Our History

Can we truly raise confident Muslim children without structured parenting support?

This question led to the birth of the Global Islamic Parenting Network (GIPNet) at the Global Association of Islamic Schools (GAIS) Conference in 2024. It emerged in response to growing concerns about parenting within Muslim families and its direct impact on children and Islamic schools.

Problem Statement: A Missing Pillar in Islamic Education

Islamic schools educate the child. But who educates the parent?

The GIPNet Global Survey (March 2025) identified several critical gaps:

  • A lack of culturally relevant Islamic parenting resources
  • Limited support for parents navigating the digital age through an Islamic lens
  • An absence of structured, multilingual parenting programs
  • Missed opportunities to strengthen meaningful home–school partnerships

These findings highlight an urgent need for structured, belief-based parenting support aligned with modern life. Without addressing these gaps, the values taught in Islamic schools struggle to take root at home.

Together, We Empower the Ummah. One Parent at a Time

GIPNet aims to become a global repository of Islamic parenting resources: a centralised, multilingual platform offering books, videos, toolkits, and structured programs designed for today’s Muslim families.

As Br. Zaffar Ahmed, founding President of GAIS, aptly states:
“Together we care for the child we share.”

Rooted in the concept of Tajdīd (renewal), GIPNet seeks to:

  • Reclaim parenting as a core component of tarbiyah
  • Strengthen Islamic schools by reinforcing values at home
  • Build resilient families equipped to face contemporary challenges
  • Revive prophetic parenting wisdom in ways that are accessible, relevant, and global

By empowering parents with practical, belief-centred resources, we strengthen the homes that stand behind every Islamic school. This initiative transforms parenting from a private struggle into a shared global responsibility.

With collective support, we can bridge the critical gap between school and home, cultivate resilient Muslim families, and raise a generation anchored in belief and prepared for today’s challenges.

Why GIPNet

Parenting today is more complex than ever. Families are navigating rapid social change, digital influence, and growing emotional and behavioural challenges among children and youth. Many parents and educators seek guidance that is faithful, relevant, and practical, yet struggle to find trusted, connected support.

GIPNet exists to bridge that gap.

We serve as a global network that:

  • Brings together parents, educators, scholars, and practitioners
  • Curates and develops reliable Islamic parenting resources
  • Encourages respectful dialogue between home, school, and community
  • Supports preventive, relationship-based parenting approaches

Our work recognises that raising a child is not the responsibility of parents alone, but a shared amanah entrusted to families, schools, and society.
