DA’WAH TO JAPANESE MUSLIM YOUTH : EXPERIENCE OF THE CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME (CEP)

It was not my intention at the beginning, when I embarked on the Japan–Malaysia Youth Cultural Exchange 2019 Programme, to turn it into a research project. I initially intended only to contribute what I could towards da’wah efforts in Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun. However, upon due consideration, I realised that proper documentation and reporting of this programme could benefit those interested in replicating it in the future, as it would ensure that the data and all related processes and documents are systematically compiled for easy reference. I am grateful to my main supervisor, Dr Nur Kareelawati Binti Abdul Karim, who with their immense knowledge and experience suggested that this project become the research project for my postgraduate programme. I also thank Dr Suhailiza Hamdani, who supervised me as well and generously assisted with references and elaborations where needed. Your kindness humbles me. Let's delve into the details of this programme more here.

GIPNET Parenting Survey Data Collection March 2nd, 2025

The GIPNET Parenting Survey, conducted between February and March 2025, aimed to gather in-depth insights into parenting attitudes, challenges, and practices within the global Islamic community. A total of 814 participants took part in the study, with the majority being female respondents (approximately 85–90%) and predominantly from Asia (86%), followed by smaller contributions from Africa, North America, Europe, Oceania, and South America. The survey was in English, with a limited Malay, reflecting GIPNET’s growing international reach. Through this data, GIPNET seeks to understand how Islamic principles influence parenting approaches and to identify the key areas where parents require guidance or support. The findings are intended to help shape future educational materials, community engagement strategies, and digital learning platforms, enabling GIPNET to strengthen its role as a leading global Islamic parenting network that empowers families with faith-based, practical, and culturally relevant resources.
